Book Studies

Church members, friends & our pastor suggest topics for our book studies.  This spring of 2010 we'll be reading Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time by Marcus Borg beginning in January, The Last Week by Marcus Borg & J. D. Crossan during Lent, followed by Borg's The Heart of Christianity.

Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time by Marcus Borg.

We invite you to join us for a study of Marcus Borg’s Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time.  On Tues., Feb. 2 at 6 pm, we'll be discussing Chapters 1 & 2.

In this book, Borg addresses the yearnings of those who seek a contemporary faith that welcomes critical intelligence and openness to the best of historical scholarship. Using Biblical and historical study, Borg develops an alternative image of Jesus which can lead to a new and sustaining faith in Christ.

He asserts that the Christian life is not about believing or about being good, but rather that the Christian life is life grounded in search for relationship with God which invites us into a journey of personal transformation.

If you plan to join us, please sign up in the church office.
