Loaves and Fishes, Etc.
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat..." Matthew 25:34
The Loaves and Fishes, Etc. food pantry was formed in the fall of 1992 by:
As of 2010, eight additional congregations sponsor this ministry:
Sponsorship means the church is willing to provide two people to serve on the Board of Directors and act as liaison between their congregation and the operation and needs of the food pantry.
Two volunteers at a time greet an average of 350 families each month during weekday afternoons in our church to provide assistance with food from the pantry shelves and financial vouchers for perishable food. As funds are available, vouchers may also be provided for housing, utilities, and ETC. Loaves & Fishes, ETC. is a completely volunteer operation with no paid staff and operates entirely through donations. Operational costs for the telephone and postage are paid by gifts from contributors designated for those expenses.
As of April 2010, regular hours for the pantry are 1:15 - 4:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 1:15 - 3:00 pm on Fridays. The pantry is closed holidays and on days when volunteers are not available.

Presbyterian Hunger Program
A tin marked “Hunger Fund” is placed on each table when meals are served at the church. Donations are shared by giving seventy-five percent to Presbytery and twenty-five percent to Loaves & Fishes, Etc. The Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) provides direct food relief to those in need at home and abroad, assists in development that addresses the root causes of hunger, and empowers self-development for poor and hungry people. In addition to the Hunger Fund donations, the PHP also received thirty-two percent of the One Great Hour of Sharing offering.
